Blistered Sesame Green Beans

Thai Glaze
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ¼ cup water
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- ½ cup fish sauce
- ½ cup plus 2 tablespoons Domino® or C&H® Granulated Sugar
- ¾ cup lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, chopped
- 1 tablespoon dry chile flakes, ground
- 1 teaspoon sambal paste
- 1¼ cup corn oil
- ¼ cup sesame oil
Blistered Sesame Green Beans
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 pound green beans, washed, stems removed
- 1 cup Thai glaze
- ¼ cup chopped roasted almonds
- 2 tablespoons torn cilantro leaves
- 1 sliced green onion
- 1 tablespoon roasted sesame seeds
Instructions
Thai Glaze
Step 1: Dissolve cornstarch in water.
Step 2: Using a food processor, blend all of the remaining glaze ingredients together.
Blistered Sesame Green Beans
Step 1: Heat vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pan to approximately 350°F.
Step 2: Place green beans into oil, and fry until they start to blister and turn golden brown.
Step 3: Remove excess oil, and deglaze green beans with Thai glaze. Cook until glaze becomes thick.
Step 4: Season with salt and pepper and add almonds.
Step 5: Place into serving dish. Garnish with torn cilantro leaves, green onion, and roasted sesame seeds.
